Customizable Reports From Microsoft Excel Templates |

With this feature, users of Total Vu™ software set up report templates in Microsoft Excel, specifying desired layout features. The user may reference many configuration or data items from Total Vu (e.g. product specifications, statistical values, Total Vu charts, measurement values). Charts may be pre-defined and formatted to be filled in automatically with data captured by Total Vu.
When a report is triggered—for example, at the end of a run or a spool—Total Vu creates a new workbook from the template, fills in cells that reference Total Vu items with the corresponding value, and then saves and/or prints the new workbook.
With this option, users have complete control over the look and content of their reports. They also have the ability to use any Windows-compatible printers, including label printers. And they can use a tool most engineers already know well: Microsoft Excel.
Users create report templates in Excel exactly as they would for any Excel template. You can specify fonts, spacing, images, colors, borders, print areas, etc. You can embed formulas, charts, and macros.
Once the template design is complete, a browser in Total Vu allows you to select items to import into each generated report. Select from configuration items, statistics, charts, data, and even information contained in standard Total Vu reports such as flaw reports and Process Tracker™ event files. The new workbook can be saved automatically as a new file and/or printed. If saved to disk, the folder and name for the new file are generated automatically to ensure that they are easy to locate and identify. The file can also be password protected for security or validation requirements.
The customizable reports are included with LaserLinc’s Advanced SPC option or sold separately.
